The ukulele has become such a popular instrument that the third annual Uke Fest, May 18 to 20, is expected to be the biggest yet.
“Even last year they were asking if tickets were on sale for this year,” said Carla Heath, marketing manager for the Midland Cultural Centre (MCC).
The MCC’s Uke Fest was the first ukulele festival held in the region, but festivals are springing up all over the world.
For the first time, ukulele master Stuart Fuchs of New Hampshire is performing and hosting workshops at Uke Fest.
