Shared: Victoria Harbour’s Sherry Middaugh victorious at KW Fall Classic

MIDLAND – Sherry Middaugh’s rink from the Coldwater and District Curling Club won its first event of the season Sunday in Waterloo.

Team Middaugh defeated Julie Tippin’s foursome 6-5 in the final of the KW Fall Classic to capture the prize purse of $2,500.

Middaugh, a Victoria Harbour resident, went 6-1 at the event. Other members of her team are Jo-Ann Rizzo, Lee Merklinger and Leigh Armstrong.

Their only loss came in the second game of the round-robin, when she fell 6-2 to Un-Chi Gim of South Korea.

Skips whose teams were defeated by Middaugh included Allison Flaxey, Brenda Holloway, Mallory Kean, Julie Hastings and Cory Christensen.
