National Health and Fitness Day is an initiative to make Canada the Fittest Nation on Earth by inspiring Canadians to become more active! Tiny’s Health and Fitness Day, hosted by the Tiny Community Recreation Committee, provides an opportunity to celebrate and promote the use of local health, recreational, sports and fitness facilities. The event kicked off with the 3 KM Tiny Trot, hosted by the Tiny Trails and Active Transportation Committee, at Bernie LeClair Parkette.
Approximately 250 people enjoyed the festivities at Perkinsfield Park, which included a $2 Pizza Lunch, Bike Rodeo, Helmet Safety Check Station, Fitness Class Demos, Tiny’s Mobile Skate Park, Soccer for Life Demonstrations, Tiny’s Day Camp Meet and Greet and over 15 Health & Wellness Exhibitor Booths.
The Accessibility Advisory Committee celebrated National AccessAbility Week (May 27 to June 2, 2018), which promotes inclusion and accessibility in our communities and workplaces, and celebrates the contributions of Canadians with disabilities.
