After the stunning posthumous revelations by past deputy mayor Stephan Kramp (click to see the video), we’ve found more evidence of the plan to form the “shadow cabinet” to influence council as early as 2012. Watch the short video above. Roy Ellis shared his vision with Rogers Cable television show Politically Speaking. The choice to focus his efforts on police, fire, public works and administration of the town of Midland shows a single-minded determination to tinker with the inner workings of the municipality by clandestine influencers until he could get members elected to Council.
What’s the motivation? It could be as simple as being a PIP (previously important person) and his pining and need for control and to be in charge of things after decades of being a VIP in his circles and America’s Fortune 100 (McDonalds) corporate culture. It is becoming very obvious that PIP syndrome and ego are large motivators.
His disdain and loathing for anyone who challenges his views on how things should work, including community policing, the local fire service (which he unsuccessfully targeted a couple of years ago) and ultimately the litany of terminations (and rich severance for the unjust dismissals) at town hall are all fruits of his and his group’s labours. Now we see them lauding praise on the replacement CAO they helped hire, who is filling town hall with new hires as wave after wave of staff come and go. The latest report shows that Midland pays meagre wages and can’t attract talent. Taxes go up in Midland after years of cutbacks and the group is as vicious as a puppy. We are eager to see the new “who to vote for” list for 2018 so we know the names of the “next generation” or, maybe we will see Roy’s name on the ballot?
