Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) is starting public consultations stemming from the publishing of their operational review. The report identifies some issues with the hospital that are deserving of remedy once their causes are clearly identified. There are public meetings set for Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay Townships.
If you would like to learn more about the report, its impact on your local hospital and what steps may be taken to address those findings, you are encouraged to come out to one or all of the public meetings.
Midland’s public meeting will be held at the North Simcoe Sports and Rec Centre from 7PM – 9PM tonight (Thursday January 21st). Other meetings are set for 7PM – 9PM and include Penetanguishene at the Memorial Community Centre on January 25th, the Wyebridge Community Centre on January 26th and the Victoria Harbour Oakwood Community Centre on January 27th.
A copy of the report is embedded below. You can read more details about the findings and responses by GBGH executives in the coverage found at this link.
Update From The First Meeting
We attended the first meeting on Thursday night at the NSSRC. It was a full house with well over 200 people in attendance including mayors from neighbouring municipalities. We live-tweeted from the event and you can read those tweets at http://www.twitter.com/ourmidlandca
Read the review below to get some background. It’s not all bad news but it identifies some significant challenges both in human resources and financially as funding models evolve.
